Hello. I just installed a new video card (SUN PGX-32bit color frame buffer) into an Ultra 10 that had a bad onboard video. (Running Solaris 8).
How do I get the Ultra 10 to use the new card? I believe it sees it just fine as I see in the messages file:
Jun 2 12:44:24 fuji simba: [ID 370704 kern.info] PCI-device: SUNW,m64B@2, m640

Thanks!

I have a few Ultra 10s that came configured with PCI PGX 24 video boards. There is a nvramrc devalias set up for these video boards. "devalias pgx24 /pci@1f,0/pci@1.1/SUNW,m64B@2:m640"

Not sure if this helps you.

the messages is just info, change /etc/syslo.conf if you don't want to see this *.info things...

Best Regards, Franz

Actually it isn't the message log I am concerned about. I want to use this video card instead of the onboard one. So I installed this new card, booted the SUN, and if w monitor is plugged into this new card - nothing on the video.

thanks!
