New to vlan

Hello,

I want to configure vlan on a cisco 2950EI and have both vlans to communicate with the firewall. I only have one switch and one firewall. I have two companys that i want to separate from each other. Is this possible?`

As long as you don't want to allow interVLAN communication and you have at 4 ports on firewall, two for each company, I can't think of any problem with this. But maybe a firewall can be an issue, in which case you will need a separate firewall for each company. However there is absolutely no problem with switch if it is configured the right way.
