also access-lists and nat

any help would be great

thanks

hi,
gr8 question
first be aware of user mode & previliged mode

# show running-config
is the solution,
for more help use
# show?
it will give u appropriate & possible commands

keep it up ...

I have some pix chops so i'm aware of the modes I was able to get the config with priv mode

observation: I can not do sh commands
in config mode (config t) is it diffrent than the pix?

also with the pix you apply access-lists to an interface
i dont see that in this router how is the access list applied?

and I have some access-lists that are "eq domain"
what does domain consist of? is this like netbios etc.?
Example:
access-list 102 permit tcp host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx any eq domain

sorry i'm taking a self tought crash course on cisco routing

thanks in advance

You cannot be in config mode to do show command like you can on the pix.

you apply an access list on the interface itself using the ip access-group command.

domain is port 53.

Yes... I agree. It wouuld be very nice to be able to do a show running-config in the configuration mode. The PIX allows this, but IOS routers don't.

To follow up w/ what mtashiro said. This is how you would apply an access-list on an interface.

configure terminal
interface fastethernet0/0
ip access-group 102 in

-Bad Dos

rtr(config)# do show run

will show you the config while in config mode, if you are running the latest IOS. (May be 12.2 and above)
