Ok, I am running a Netware 5.1 SP7 server. We did not originally install NDPS because of Jet Direct Box issues and networked deskjets. We have been using Queue based printing without any problems, until now. I have had problems trying to install new printers, so I figured I would install NDPS to setup the new printers.

After updating a file named RINSTALL on the Netware 5.1 install cd, I was able to run NWDEPLOY to install NDPS. I have installed it and am now running NDPS 2.1.1. After some errors I was able to get the BROKER and the MANAGER running, but when I look at what drivers to push, I don't see any options for Windows XP (the desktop we run here). I'm sure I have to install the HP printer drivers, unfortunatly I have no idea how to do that.

Any help provided is greatly appreciated!!!

Technically, your version of NetWare treats W2K and WinXP drivers the same. It gets complex to try to explain -- there are several things that have changed in the last couple years that affect how drivers are deployed. Just install the XP drivers using the W2K tab and see how it goes. If you have problems with that, make another post.

And, if I recall correctly, you'll need to create a shortcut to NWAdmin and add the switch "/disabletlsmgr" to the end of the executable line (i.e., blah/blah/nwadmin.exe /disabletlsmgr). Without it, you can't load external printer drivers.

Well, I have attepted to add the drivers following the TID ITsmyfault suggested, however, for some reason I dont have a "Windows 2000 Printer Drivers" option. I only have the following: "Banners," "NPD Files," "Windows 3.1 Printer Drivers," "Windows 95/98 Printer Drivers," and "Windows NT4 Printer Drivers."

Luckily, I have a small user base so I can go manually add the printers as needed, but I was hoping to have the ability to push the drivers out.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again!

I would make sure that NDPS is listed in your list of installed products in NWCONFIG on the server. Then reinstall the latest service pack and make sure you don't have Netware Administrator open while you do it to ensure all files get copied.

Then run NWADMN32 from the server, ie: SYS:pUBLIC\WIN32\NWADMN32.EXE
