New to GPO

hi guys

i have a dc on the the same subnet as a client i am testing on. i have not configured any gpo's yet other than the one i'm gonna mention here.

i have created an OU called COmputers OU - i have put a computer in there. I have applied a GPO to the OU but the policy is not getting picked up.

This was hours ago - i have done gpudate /force from command prompt and rebooted the pc many times

am i missing something simple here?

Are you applying computer policies to it or user policies? You have to apply computer policies to computers and user policies to users. Also, you need to reboot the PC for computer changes to take effect.

Have you enforced the policy? Have you attempted to use RSOP.msc to find out what policies are being applied?
