here's the deal, I'm beginning to intsall a new server. when i first set it up it was working fine with a dynamic address given to it by my old server. however when i tried giving it a static address (setting up a new domain) it no longer connected with my old server. The port lights up but a cannot ping the switch it's hooked up to nor the old server. So i am reformatting the new server to try again.

any thoughts of what went wrong?
please help, thanks.
