Hi all

I just installed an ethernet NIC CARD today.....

My system (Win 98 P3) developed a strange problem. It restarts in the middle of anything. It happens every 15- 20 mins. I don't know whats happening. It also has a bug ... Logical block addressing of f: is not on. Though i don't know how to set the LBA on, I opened bios and set the lan card power on (Is it ok?). It still happens. Please help me

Thanks

With regard to the LBA setting. Usually that is in the BIOS. If the IDE is set to autodetect, it should have picked up that your hard drive supported it. Go in and look at the IDE settings for the drive. If it is, it may be related to a known issue with 98 and the LBA setting; I can't remember exactly. You might try their support website.

Regarding the sudden power downs: Are you certain your heatsink (sp?) are snuggly together? Maybe you knocked into it when you were installing the NIC. Usually when I have a problem like that it is due to the CPU overheating.

Sorry I can't be of more help. If I find my notes on that LBA issue, I'll post again.
