Hi all.

I have a few shortcuts on my desktop that are for web addresses and what I would like to do is to be able to click on the shortcut for a particular site and have this shortcut open a new browser not open the page in the browser that is already open as it does on default.

I can do it by clicking on the IE icon but then I have to drag the shortcut into the rowsers address bar. Just looking for a an easier way of doing it.

Anyone have the solution?

Thanks in advance :)

Tezdread,

You could try this:

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "reuse windows for launching shortcuts"

Or create your shortcuts by right-clicking on iexplore.exe. Then put in the web address in the Target box. Like this:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"
reghakr

Thanks for the reply I don't seem to be able to find the "reuse windows for launching shortcuts" option under Advanced? I am using works computers and this maybe something that is restricted?

And I'm not sure what you mean with the other? The links I want to open are intranet addresses if that makes any difference?

I was hoping for something that I could add to the end of the web address, something like the _blank command used when using frames in web site creation.

Like reghakrs suggestion, Make a copy of a shorcut to internet explorer and under its properties, in the shortcut tab, in the 'target' box, add a 'space' and then the address of the webpage

For example:
"C:\Program Files\Inte
rnet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"
- amgv84 - amgv84
