New install of BAB v9 - Where's ALERT?

I installed Brightstor Arcserve Backup version 9 on my Windows 2000 server. I did a FRESH install versus an upgrade of Arcserve 2000. I have been able to inport my old jobs into BAB v9. However, I can't get into the ALERT program, when I click on it within the GUI, I get a box stating it is not installed!!! How do I install it? I did not see an option for it when I did the full install of BAB v9.

Please help, I rely heavily on Alert, and it took me a LOOOOONG time just to get it to work with Lotus Notes the first time around.

Try Control Panel Add Remove Programs, and then select Change for BAB. Then in the installer check Repair.

You are right there is no option to select just Alert.

Is E-Trust AntiVirus or Inoculan installed?
They use the same Alert.

Unless it changed the uninstall does not remove Alert because it is a common component. See if the file are still there. I don't remember the location for AS 2000 so just do a search for Alert directory.

The default path for Alert in BAB 9.0 is
C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\Alert.

If there is an Alert directory from before try removing it and the registry settings and then the Repair.

In the registry it is under hkey local mach. Software Computer Associates Alert.
