We recently purchased the Lastest Call Manager and Intuity and I am learning as I go. One of my confusions that I have is, " How do you configure intuity to recieve faxes and phone calls on one D-i-D number, without them interfering with each other. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

What version Intuity are you running?

In the future everything will work...

thanks for the quick reply. This is what version I have:

Avaya Intuity™ AUDIX® LX R1.1

When we were running Intuity 4.0 we had this set up. The intuity din't know if it was a fax or a voice meesage until it when to record. It played the callers greeting, then went "beep" and if it heard fax tone it would start to recieve the fax, othewise it woudl record the message. The issue back then was if the outgoing greeting was too long, the other fax would quit playing the tones, and intity would never get the fax.

RTMCKEE, how did you get the phone system to recognize the fax signal? This sounds interesting.....

The phone system never new any difference. The call rang a the persons desk as normal. If they did not answer it would go to vm, once the vm tried to record, the vm system recognized it was a fax and started recieving the fax instead of recorind a voice call.

If i recall correclty this was an optional feature we had to have turned on the vm system.

If the caller picked up the fax call (which is what usually happened) they had to do a transfer into thier vm box so the fax could come in.
