It is handy when you install it on a customers site.
It is quicker to do the batch file then to manually adding the ports.

i mean, a corporate environment using the windows firewall is insanity!

True but it happens a lot.
Most of the times they have a separate firewall but the firewall of the pc or server is mostly turned on.
I use it when it is needed and sometimes resellers do not even know the little program.
