Hi all,
Can anyone help with this? I'm not sure if this is the 'right place' but it is related to my new Win2k3 PDC so I hope so...
I recently upgraded my server to Win2k3 and at the same time I changed the domain name.
Now one of my PC's is unable to join the new domain.
The PC is running Windows Media Centre 2005 (WMC05)
On the WMC05 I go into System Properties & Computer Name
On this tab the Computer Description is ok
The Full Computer Name is mediaserver.mydomain.local
The Domain is home.olddomain.co.uk (this is the old domain)
The Network ID button is greyed out
The option to Rename Computer Click 'Change' is ok
So I click 'Change' and the Computer Name is 'mediaserver'
The Member of Domain is greyed out
The Member of Workgroup is ok
If I select Enter New Workgroup Name and enter anything I get the following message
"A domain controller for the domain (home.olddomain.co.uk) could not be contacted"
So other than completely reinstalling my WMC05 is there anyway I can get it on my new domain? (mydomain.local)
