Go into the section expert for that section and remove the top check mark for "free form placement". This will give you consistent vertical spacing. Or you could use snap-to-grid.

What version of CR are you using? If you are using XIr2 I believe that they took that out. You would have to use Snap-To-Grid.

I believe that 11.5 is release 2 so the "Free Form Placement" checkmark is gone for you. You can activate Snap-to-Grid and adjust the size of the grid to your requirement.

ok thank you, I also found another thing that bugs me and I can't figure out; I need the right edge of a number in a sub report align up with the number in a field outside of the sub report and it is off and I have no idea how to do this.
