I have been playing around with this for several days and it still doesn't want to work. I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version. Every time I adjust the cpu settings the monitor goes into suspend mode and I have to restart holding the insert key to reset the cpu paramenters. If it does happen to start it say 400 MHz and then it halts and says "cpu is unworkable please recheck". Below is my system setup. Any help would be appreciated.

Motherboard - Abit BE6
CPU - PIII 800/133
Memory – SDRAM 256MB PC133
Video - Diamond Viper AGP 2X
Sound Card - SB PRO LIVE
Modem - Generic
CD-Rom - Asus 40X
SCSI - 2940 UW
HDD - SCSI
CD Writer - Plextor

Below is what I think is right.

CPU Settings:
Clock 133 (1/4)
Multiplier 6
AGP 3/2
Speed Error Disabled
Voltage 1.7

If this a slot 1 mobo and you are using a fcpga 370 socket adapter, double check the settings on the adapter card. Defualt settings are usually 66mhz (which appears to be your current speed) Make sure it is set to 133mhz.

It's a slot 1 board and no adapter is needed for the slot 1 PIII 800/133.

Well if you're trying to run the AGP bus at 3/2 (or 2/3rds of the 133 FSB you're pushing it to 88mhz and the AGP should be spec'd at 66mhz. The AGP should be set at 2/3rds of a 100mhz bus i.e. 66mhz. I'm not sure of the specifics of your board but you may want to poke around in the bios and see if you can make an adjustment to this. So if I installed a PCI video card that I already have this should solve the problem maybe. Because the BIOS settings on the board for the AGP are only 3/2 and 1/1. I have read that AGP bus speeds need to be around 66 but this isn't possible I think. The manual says the AGP setting is 133 divided by 3 and multiplied by 2.

I used to have an Abit BE6-2 v2 and forgive me if I am wrong! but I thought this BX chipset motherboard could only handle 100FSB processors???????????????
So if this is true your 800 133fsb Slot 1 processor won't work on this moby.
I believe that this moby will however support all the slot 1's with 100fsb up to 1gig? and FCPGA's with a slocket adapter 370, including 66/100fsb Celerons.
Infact wasn't 100fsb the default max on all BX chipset motherboards? Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.
