Ok, not thinking clearly right now, brain fried. I've got a new computer in another office that was setup, I can't see it so I'm taking "Their Word" for it.

It's a 98SE machine connecting to NT 4.0 using DHCP.

Any user can not sign on the machine, but if you pass the sign on prompt and run WINIPCFG you see that it was assigned a correct IP Address, correct gateway, correct DHCP server. The Domain Name and the Workgroups are set correctly. No matter who signs in, they get the Username not known or can't sign in. Any ideas? I can even ping the machine from my office and tracert to it.

Are they getting the Domain bar at the login screen?

Yes, and it is showing the correct Domain Bar. I know this is simple, but for some reason my brain is missing it.

What are you using for name resolution WINS, LMHOSTS file etc...?

WINS. But under the TCP/IP Settings I have checked use DHCP for WINS Resolution.

When you do a Winipcfg /all do the WINS servers show up?

Great, the person I'm trying to help left for the day. Let me find out tomorrow and I'll post the answer. Thanks for the help so far.

I would make sure WINS is set up properly on the client. Clients request 1C information from WINS. The WINS server sends back the DC address used for validating clients. If WINS is not set up on both sides you wont be authenticated and it will return a "username not found" error.
You can also try to ping the local DC by name from the client to make sure you have Netbios name resolution.
