I converted our HR database from Access97 to Access2000 and now the New button (for a new table, form, query etc.) is grayed out. If I open the database in Access97 I can add tables etc. but not in 2000? Anyone else had this problem?

PLEASE let me know if there is a fix. I have checked Microsoft’s website but did not get any results.

Thanks!!

Kat

you've prob tried this, but does the enabled property of the button in the new database still say "enabled = yes"?

I know this may sound silly, but are you sure you've converted it? It sounds like you did not actually CONVERT the db to Access2000 but are merely RUNNING it in Access2000. When you attempt to open an Access97 program on a machine running Access2000 you get the option of converting it to or opening it in 2000. If you OPEN it in 2000 you can run it but not change any of the controls (forms for instance). In this case the New Form button is grayed out. But if you convert it you should be able to change and add controls such as forms.
