Have you:
Disabled onboard video or set first display to AGP (done in the bios)
Does the new video card require an extra power connector (many newer high powered cards require either a floppy or molex power plug connecting to them in order to work)
Reseat the card again!! often they just aren't fully home in the AGP socket.
Don't forget the monitor now needs to be connected to the new card and not the onboard VGA connector (priceless I know, but we've all done it)
Does the new card have any known incompatibility issues with your motherboard?
