Hi. I recently purchased a laptop, therefore, considering we're on broadband I decided to purchase a TEW-311BRP Router. Which included a PC wireless card. Great. Now, my current configuration consists of a Linksys Router, which has about 3 computer in it. Then, plugged into the uplink port, I have the wireless router. And of course that router allows for my laptop to access the internet. However, not the network! Any ideas for suggestions? Do I have to adjust any settings on the Trendnet router? Any assistence would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!
Brian.

Just as a followup, What I mean by I cant access the network, I mean that all the computers plugged into the wireless router, I my computer can "see", but all that are plugged into the linksys router, I cannot. I cant ping the IP's, and/or computer names.

if i understand this correctly,

you have the pc's attached to the linksys router and the laptop to the wireless router....

the linksys router is probably set to grab IP automatically and you pc's are set to either auto or hard set to a specific IP and subnet mask.

IMO , set the pc's IP address to something like the follwing in the TCP/IP properties

********
PC 1
********
ip address = 192.168.1.2
subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
gateway = 192.168.1.1 (the linksys local IP)

********
PC 2
********
ip address = 192.168.1.3
subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
gateway = 192.168.1.1 (the linksys local IP)

so on and so forth for other pc's attached to this router...

on the wireless router do the same in the router settings and give it a sequential IP like you did on the pc's...basically telling it to act as a pc in a sense. then on the laptop set it the same but this time tell the gateway to point to the wireless router ip...

i hope this gives a basic idea of the use of gateways

as long as the subnets are the same and such then seeing the network will not be a problem
