I'm having trouble getting the networking up. I changed the IP in the CPand tied it to the system, so all I should have to do is go to internet explorer and type in the IP? Right?

O.K. I have set the IP to one given me by the IT guy, then I changed the cable to a cat-5e patch cable connected to the network. Went to a computer on the network and opened internet explorer and typed (in the address bar) the IP I was given the reply I get is cannot open site.

Did not change the subnet mask, bwtc, are you saying just the IP, no .com ???
