Has anyone had any expierence with this? I've found a good reource with some programs to start testing, but theres quite a few programs. :) I was hoping some of you might of had experience with some of them. I'm looking at most of the programs listed under the "Other Solutions" on the link I've provided below.

I have a few small clients that simply can't afford Exchange but want to share some data from within Outlook. Mostly calendars. Biggest setup for this would be 3 - 5 PC's.

Thanks for any feedback.

I've used WorkgroupShare ( at a customer before for exactly the reason that you give for not using Exchange; price. I found it to be very easy to install and maintain. There were a couple of drawbacks with it but I don't think that they are that bad.

1. You can't set Reminders on the appointments in the shared calendars.

2. The "server" part of the software is quite CPU intensive so you'll need to put it on your most powerful machine (or dedicate a machine to it).

My advice would be to give it a go. If memory serves there is a trial version.

Hope this helps.

J.
