Hey again.

(I post a lot on this forum, ya'll are a great source!)

We have a drop box(plug in for lan cable on the wall) that connect to a server that uses novell as a intranet client, for understanding purposes ill call this novell network). I administrate a domain that has no outside access (no connection to the internet) which runs on Windows2000server (I'll call this NTserver) - My instructor and I do not like the novell setup, and have made a cable to run through the panels in the roof to the NTserver, the original novell client machine also has to be on the novell networkt, so we came up with this solution, run a line from the box to a hub, and then a line from the hub to a computer (novell client computer), and then a big line to the ntserver, out goal is too get the internet proxy access using the dropbox onto out NTserver network, at this time our network cannot be added to the novell network. The only added thing is if I run a line from the dropbox to 1 machine, it works, that 1 machine get the internet, but i need all the machines to get it from the 1 dropbox source. The dropbox and the novell client run at 10mbps and our network can run up to 100mbps.

How can we get the clients/server to use the novel machine access to access the proxy server and therefore the internet? Also, are we in any security danger relative to their network server thinking "uh oh" where did my machine go?" We are conducting this as a short term experiment. Thanks.

Other option: Adding the Novell client machine to our network. How is that possible without having to load some of the Novell and network proxies? Hope this all makes sense.

I hope that makes sense, if you have any question please ask. Thanks in advance for helping this is pretty important to us.

The only red flag i saw was that novell is at 10Mbps, and NT is 100Mbps. Are you using a 10/100 hub or autosensing switch?

For your NT server to connect to the novell intranet..you're going to have to enable the novell protocols.

Man..talk about a puzzle-picture in my head! lol
I hope i understood it right..:)
