Hi there!
I have two computers at home. I have one hooked up to high speed Internet right now, and I would like to add the second one, without a lot of cost. I second computer has a NIC in it already. Any easy ideas?

you could add a second nic to the computer with the High speed connection the use windows internet connection sharing, or you could invest a little more and put in a cable/dsl router and a hub/switch to splice the connection before it hits the computers.
If you use the 2nd NIC approch, you'll either need to get crossover cable to connect them or use a hub/switch
I recommend a cable/dsl Router. A lot depends on how you are connected to the internet. If it is through a Cable Modem, I know that ICS Internet Connection Sharing will not work. This is because the connection usually only has a single IP Number. You can not give two computers the same IP number on a network. A cablemodem is actually just a simple router for a single IP Number.
they sell the Linksys cable/dsl router/switch for about $71.00. I have heard it works well, but I have never used one. I have used one of their networking switches that works like an autosensing hub and it works great. Also, if you are willing to pay for an additional IP # your provider can probably set you up another IP # for the second computer. Usually the second IP # costs just a little more each month.
