Networking a LJ 3100 with a jet direct?

Has anyone networked a Laserjet 3100 (Multi function: print, scan, fax) with an HP Jet Direct (170x)?

I've tried getting this to work for quite sometime and am begining to wonder if it is possible..

Any ideas?

The printing features should work for you, but I haven't heard of anyone having good results trying to use any of the other features via network.

I can concur: printing should be fine, but the other functions will only work to a local computer. The usual solution is to network the printer using a Parallel print server and connect the USB to a local PC or vice versa.
