Since we've toooo much battle-scars, we just want to upgrade our NetWorker server from 6.1.2 to 6.1.4 running on a SUN v880 5.8. I having trouble finding documentation, could someone please point me the way. Thank-you !!!

I have download the doc. - thanks 605. Again there's nothing in there other than in pg. 26 of 'Release Supplement 6.1.x' and all it have is 'Release 6.1.4 is a maintenance release only; there is no new features.'

I'm fairly new with Networker and SUN/OS, so I sent Legato Support on the upgrade procedure I think I need to do. Well I guess they wanted $$$ because I got no reply !!!

So I hope someone will read this and give advise. :)

1 shutdown networker.
2 tar /nsr to either tape or file.
3 pkgrm -- all LGT*.
4 pkgadd -d /nw614 <-- where I gunzip and tar the files.
5 start networker

The procedure is correct. Taring /nsr is an additional precaution. NW will leave all internal database files on the disk. It will update them, if necessary.

Be aware of package dependencies. For De-Installation, use this sequence:

1. NW server
2. ND Storage Node
3. NW Manual Pages
4. NW Storage Node
5. NW Device Drivers (if installed)
6. NW Client

When installing the software, reverse the sequence.

Thanks again 605... :)
