I know I have been here before, but can some one guide me through, on how to utilize my printer from remote computer?
My network seems OK. I just can't see printer. When I opened printer wizard, I get to Network path or queue name it say my printer is off line.

1 - Can you see the other machine in network neighbourhood? 2 - Can you see the shared printer when you browse nn?
3 - Is File sharing enabled on the host machine?
4 - Is the printer shared?
5 - Make sure both clients using the same protocol? If TCP/IP make sure they are on the same subney.
6 - Make sure you are using the same workgroup on both machines.

Ash.

Shared printer silly me! I can now see printer on remote CPU. I am instructed to set up printer. but when it looks for file to copy it gets to about 45% then stops and I get error "cannot find path"

Is this a HP printer by any chance?

At that point if it asks you for a location just stick in the driver cd or windows cd depending on where the driver is from.
If it doesn't ask for a location, install a 'fake' printer at lpt1 on the client machine with the same driver.
Then try and add the network printer again - then remove the fake printer.

At 45% there was an option to "skip file". I did, and printed a test page, and it works! Who knew?
Thank for taking the time
