I have 2 domains. I just added a BDC to domain1, which only had one server prior. A trust relationship existed and worked for all servers in domain1 and domain2. I could administer every server from either domain. But now when I'm in domain2, and I open server manager, the new BDC for domain1 is greyed out and when I try to open it, it gives the "network path not found" error.

I know the BDC works. It can authenticate users, and the PDC in domain1 can administer the BDC from server manager without error.

Also, shares on the new BDC are not accessible in the domain2. The error returned is "no logon servers available to service the request".

Does anyone have any ideas on this one? I'm stumped.
Thanks in advance. Joe.

If you are sure that connectivity hasn't been lost and that the DC's are working, you might want to delete and recreate the trust. Sometimes, trusts break.

Here's how you can quickly re-create the trust:

Also, you might want to Synchronize the domain controllers and try again. Are you seeing any error messages in the Eventviewer?
