I am posting this in the XP forum as I believe the problem to be with an XP Machine.
I am trying to network 3 Computers together, but one just won't play by the rules. I am not as familiar with XP as I am with all other Windows OS's. I am wondering if I am missing something.
#1 - Laptop running XP Home SP2
#2 - Computer running W98SE
#3 - Dell Dimension 3000, XP Home, SP2, ver. 2002 (Brand new)
(A few months ago I networked #1 + #2 with no problem)
1 - Lynksys WRT54GS wireless to wired router/gateway
I checked out the Lynksys settings and nothing seemed to be a problem. I even tried disabling the firewall to see if that was the problem. No luck. Could the there be something in the Lynksys setup that I am missing.
>All Computers can surf the internet
>#3 is able to find all shares on #1 + #2
>#3 can ping #1 + #2
>#1 + #2 are not able to find shares or ping #3
>Each computer has a unique name
>Each computer has the same network group name
>I turned off Windows Firewall on #3
No matter what I try #3 just won't allow the other computers in.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
