i'm looking for freeware that can monitor our LAN at work.
just something simple that will indicate network usage, speed, which computer is receiving and sending the most bytes. i not looking for demos or trial software.
Can anyone help??

There are a lot of options in W2K pro to monitor stuff like that, have you tried?
There is Network Interface:Bytes Total/sec and Three others.
The first monitors total amount of traffic in and out of the NIC.
Current Bandwidth(2nd) measures utilization levels.
Output Queue Length(3rd)measures number of packets queued for transmission.
Packets/sec(4th)packets sent and received.
These are all add ins in system monitor. Go admin tools/performance select sys monitor click add and you will see a list of all addable monitors.
