Hello all,

I am having some trouble here hopefully you guys can help. I have a network that consists of 7 switches all cisco 4 2900 xl and 3 2950 switches. I set up cluster management. The problem is I was adding a machine to one of the switches and the whole network lost connectivity i had to reset the switch. When i plugged the node onto another switch there was no problem. Is there any kind of command that i can use on the switch to see if there are any issues. If any more information is needed please let me know. Please help a newb out. Thanks in advance.

When you first connect the node to the first switch did you try mode than one port? You could unfortunately hit a port with a problem.
You may also check port speed, duplex, etc.
Try connecting another PC on the same port (after hours, please) and, if possible, do a show port (or show interface) and post if for us.
Since you were able to connect the node to another switch it means the node itself is fine.
