I have a server set up that is running windows 2k3. I have separate folders set up for certain users to log into. But what i need is, when a user clicks on the shared drive, they are prompted with a login window. After they put their login and password in, it will take them to the folder i have assigned for their username. Then after 5 or 10 min. of inactivity, i need it to be cleared from the sessions manager. Anyone know how I can accomplish this task?

you can try what I did, I had a similar problem. Check out my post.
thread931-670026 me know if it works

That didn't seem to fix what i needed, even though it was very nice to know how to do that command. I think that will help me keep the logs cleared off for a while though :)

What i really need is for a login prompt to be displayed to the user every time they close the network neighborhood or click on the shared drive. Know of any thing that does this?

Are your users joining the domain? If so, don't. Have different passwords for local machine and the server. that should take care of the first part. The second part of logging off after inactivity, will be some tweak on the server that I am not aware of. Maybe active directory. AD in 2K3 is very powerful. Good Luck
