Can anyone tell me how to remove a win2k laptop from a domain. The option to remove it from Network Identifications in system properties is disabled (that refers to locally or on the domain)

Are you running AD to manage your users, this computer will be listed in here, you can delete it from this end, however the client will still probably believe itself to be connected to the domain.

I would suggest removing the client by going to the network settings and adding it to a workgroup!

Then remove the computer from the AD list.

I have deleted the computer from AD and that didn't work.
Also the option to join a workgroup and then rejoin the domain is disabled

Have you got any odd security policies applied to your administrator account in AD or on the local machine in the Computer management pannel?

elaborate pls, as I'm in there know as we speak

Your administrator should not have any restrictions to thier privilages, if there are any settings that are not set to 'not configuered' then change them to 'not configuered'.

Also try removing any user policies assigned to the OU that the admin user is in.
