Network design

I would like to learn about network design.
What kind of hardware I can used to hook up 3 building (distance 500-700 feet). Each building has a 4 floor and have 1000 client total. What is the simple way to design this. Can someone give me a any advice.. Thank you

I had a similar situation where there was telephone cabling between the buildings, but no fiber. The cable distances were beyond the 100 meter limitation of Ethernet, and the cabling didn't met certification anyway.

What did we do? We had enough CSU's and routers to wire our own T1 circuits between the buildings. Just make sure that one of the CSU's provides the clock for the T1 circuit.

We had five buildings, and enough spare hardware to provide a T1 link between each building, i.e. a fully meshed network. That's two routers (each with 2 serial ports) and four CSU's per location. The wiring itself was wired in a star topology, but cross-connects allowed two buildings not directly connected to be connected via T1.

Ya, I know, we were WAY outside the official limitations of the T1 spec, but with Ethernet we were getting crazy amounts of errors. With the T1 configuration, there were none.

It would be real difficult to try to learn how to design the network using the forum.
For your example though, I think idealy it would be nice to setup your server area inwhich ever building is in the middle. Personally I would have a core switch in that location and run fiber to the other buildings.
Now in each building I would have a wireing closet on each floor which would have network switchs and patch panels to distribute cable to each office. Each of these closets could be on its own fiber run from the core, or you could have them in a fiber ring, you might also have redundant fiber links so if something happens you dont loose it all.

It also depends how much money you are willing to spend and what kit you have lying around
