I have a linux and just try to set it on the hubs outside firewall, which it can directly connect to the T1 router.

For my case, assume my public network IP is x.y.z.128/25. My router IP is x.y.z.129/25 and I set my linux box IP is x.y.z.145/25. And I check the route is add to the route table which all packet go to x.y.z.128/25 network will go through eth0.

I have try using this configuration but just the linux box is replaced by a NT box. For the NT box, it is OK to ping the router. however when I change to use the linux box, I cannot ping the router and the other machine outside firewall.

I have test the linux box inside firewall and it work properly and can ping any host in LAN. I just change the IP to a public IP when I put it on the outside hubs.

Anyone have the idea why I cannot ping the router?

I have solve the problem...
I found there is a route that direct the traffic to the linux box to the firewall...
I remove it and the internet connection work...
