Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a problem with changing password on a Novell Server after upgrading a workstation to NW Client 4.9 and SP1?

While getting ready to deploy a couple of new workstations to user, my techs installed the NW Client 4.9 and SP1 on the workstation. When they installed the workstation with the user, the user was unable to change his or her password when prompted by the network. The first time the user attempts to log on, they are informed that their passwork has expired and would they like to change it now. When the user selects "change it now" they presented with a dialog box that allows the to enter the new password. After they have entered their password twice, they click OK and another dialog box pops up with the following error message. "LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-710: The password could not be changed. Error: fffffda7.

If when we install the client software, we do not install SP1 then the user has no problem with logging in to the network and changing their password.

Has anyone had this experience? And if so, what fix have been found, other that not installing SP1?

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi fwiebur,
I had the same problem. Solution: uninstall the NMAS-Service which is automatically installed by the new client. You will find it in settings/software...

Greetings Thomas

Good news. The lastest client 4.9.1 contains the service patch, plus while installing it allow the installer to de-select the NMAS install.
