Hi,

I am having an interesting issue with NetWare 6.5 and secondary ip addresses.

What I am trying to do is this:

I have a secondary ip address assigned to a server ie: 172.20.250.9, and the server has an ip address of 172.20.200.4. On this server I have running the following, Groupwise 6 MTA, POA and GWIA. This is a secondary domain in my groupwise system and talks to the primary domain fine, the problem I have is with the GWIA.

I can telnet on port 25 to 172.20.250.9 and use SMTP commands to send e-mail, but after a short time the GWIA will flag up an error message:

This system is not configured to relay mail from user@host.com to user@host.co.uk for 172.20.200.4

Looking at this error it looks as though the GWIA is trying to use the server's assigned address rather than the secondary ip address assigned to the server.

I have in console one checked the GWIA object settings and the ip address is set to 172.20.250.9

Does anyone know why in netware 6.5 it does this with IP addresses? (I have the same issue with DNS using the server's primary IP address rather than the secondary address!)

Thanks!

Simon.
