Is anyone running this configuration sucessfully? I can't seem to get MTA to process outbound domain email. They just sit in deferred status forever? Any ideas?
Well... after much hair pulling and tooth gnashing (sic) I came to the conclusion that NS Messaging Server 4.15 does NOT support Win2k. I found no mention of Win2k in any docs however iPlanet Messaging does indicate that it supports Win2k. I tried setting up iPlanet Messaging and the MTA configuration seemed so complicated (all done in .ini files, not GUI) that I gave in the will of the Gods and left NS Messaging running on the sole NT 4.0 holdout in our server farm. I put a fresh install of NS Messaging on a fresh install of NT 4.0 SP6a and it seemed to eliminate the occasional instability that I was experiencing (SMTP service would sometimes freeze instead of restarting and would only recover after a reboot of NT?!?)
If you find anything else out about this mystery or need any pointer on NS Messaging, let me know.

NMS 4.15x does not work on Win2k, if you have to run it on Win2k, use the SMTP routing table to route all your outbound mail to a another server (either NMS on a supported platform, or another mailserver)
You know the best place for NMS/iMS questions is in the Sun forums or on snews://secnews.netscape.com/netscape.server.mail
