NetBackup Installation

Hi,

I am testing netbackup 4.5 and have installed the client software onto a windows2000 server running exchange 2000.

The installation completes sucessfully (I get the windows to say it has) but there has been no directory created with any netbackup files on it, and no services have been installed either.

I have checked my event viewer and the application logs shows 11707

(Event ID: 11707
Source MsiInstaller
Type Information
Description Product: <product name> -- Installation operation completed successfully.)

But nothing is installing. I am currently running backupexec on that machine, but my boss will not allow me to uninstall until I have the netbackup test running and am securing my data.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greately appreicated.

How did you install it? Meaning, did you install it through a terminal services session?

No this is an installation on the actual server itself which makes it even more confusing.

ANy help would be great

This is more than likely a permissions issue.

Are you installing NetBackup using the local Administrator account or a Domain Admin account?
