I need to send messages over my LAN, using net send, that are always on top on the recipient's screen. I also need it to play a sound. I know how to send the message using Net Send, but don't know how to do the rest, or if there is even a way to do it.
I thought that NET SEND makes the message on top? Maybe its just XP clients? Sound wise I also think (can't tell, on a standalone XP box) that it makes the default sound. (again, maybe just XP clients); otherwise I don't know and its probably unlikey - unless your into programming some sorta VB script that will generate sounds when the clients uses the Messenger service. (Dunno, my programming level is access/vba apps! )
What are you trying to send anyway? If its a "server is restarting. Bog off my network before your cack it up when its booting" then you could simply send a remote shutdown request. If they are not using XP (Bloody XP!! I don't even like it! ;-)) then you can simply nick the SHUTDOWN cmd app from a XP box and plug it into \WINNT\SYSTEM32 folder and send out requests that way.
