Hey guys!

Can anyone give me an actual example of how to use the NET SEND command to send a message to a user... We have a Windows 2000 domain. At the command prompt I type in NET SEND /?.. but the example is ambiguous at best and I want to try this command..

thanks for any help provided..

I use it all the time. Works with w2k and xp. Dos prompt
c:\net send computername "Message"
c:\net send active directory username "Message"

My pc's here all have a unique number for identification. Mine is RPC0417. So the first would be
c:\net\send rpc0417 "Message"
The second
c:\net send gjohnson "Message"

You don't need the quotes. 98 has an add-on, but I've never really tried to get it. Good luck. Glen A. Johnson
