Hello All,

I have a windows 2000 profrssional.
I am not able to login.
Event viewer shows error 5737 and the services
window shows netlogon cannot start.
I cannot force it to start.

The available information on google points to
SP2 systems and mine is SP4. I have also copied the RSAENH.DLL from a working laptop.

Any pointers welcome.

thanks

I would start by reloading SP4. If that does not work I would uninstall all the way back to SP2 and reinstall back to SP4.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

The probelm was solved.

Problem:
Net Logon does not start
RIP listener causes 100% CPU activity

Action taken:
Stoppped unnecessary services
Ran AD aware
Ran virus checker
Installed SP4 once again
copied the RSAENH.DLL file as advised by Microsoft bulletin
These did not help.

The following from the internet helped.

***************************
1. Uninstall TCP/IP, File and print sharing, and
Client for Microsoft Networks
2. Back up and delete the following
registry keys. (These will be replaced when TCP/IP is installed)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\WinSock2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\WinSock
3. Remove all present and non-present adapters
4. Re-boot
5. Verify the NIC was successfully
re-added
6. Install TCP/IP, File and print sharing, and Client for
Microsoft Networks
8. You should now be able to join the domain
