get this when a pc starts:

net.exe -application error
the application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000005

I checked msconfig and don't see any programs that use net.exe

Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I think that is the command line tool for all your networking. NET STAT, NET USE, NET SEND, etc...
You might try verifying that it is in your system32 directory.

Figured it out
The net.exe file was corrupt.I found it in the system 32 folder but when you ran it the erroe appeared, so we just copied a new one over it and it worked fine.
