Has anyone ever encountered Nessus logging off from the scanner system (not rebooting). This has happened twice to me and it's taking a toll on bringing projects in on a timely manner. Here's the setup:
I have a Toshiba Satellite 1.2 GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM, dual booted with Windoze XP (default boot) and Fedora Core 3 as secondary.
I'm running Nessus 2.2.4 with updated plugins, the testing is not optimized and safe checks is not enabled. The ports being scanned are 'default' (1-15000), TCP ping, connect(), Aggressive timing.
When I left it running over night, I'd get to work in the morning and the login screen for Fedora is displayed. If a reboot had occurred, the Windows login would be displayed. So, therefore I can only take it to mean that the system is logging off the current user.
Is this a user management timing issue? I've disabled the power management on the screensaver, and when I leave I lock the screen.
Additionally, I login using a valid user, then su to root so that I can lock the screen.
My thanks in advance!
