when I eject the CDRW it is closing the cd session so that when you put it back in it is read only and full - in order to use it again it has to be reformated. Nero 5.5 - I can not find any settings to control this - everyone tells me that this is better than Adaptec but their directCD beats this hands down.

I agree Direct Cd much better and more user friendly.
Are you sure you are using the In CD and not the nero burning rom. My Computer came with Nero, but I had to put the Installation cd in and install In Cd seperately, it was not installed. Once I did this I could use a RW disc just like a floppy and copy paste to cd etc. In Cd will not work on R disc like Direct CD does. If you go to Nero and update Nero 5.5 (5.5.917)it also has a nero express that is a lot simpler to use to save files to an R disc. You have a box to check that allows you to add files later. I have also been able to use these files that I saved. It is still a little confusing, but a lot simpler than the full ahead nero burning rom program. There is also an update for the In Cd program,(3.5.16.1) which seems to be more stable. They are seperate downloads. I see that there is a little newer update than what I have (5.5.10.0)(In CD 3.5.91) Hope this helps, I have been very frustrated with Nero, I never had the problems with Adaptec or struggled like I have with the Nero progam. Good Luck!

Hi,

PMJI, but I want to install InCD on my new PC (it was on my old one).

From what you say, is it a separate program to Nero burning which is installed from the same CD?

Thanks for your help.

I would agree that the Nero programs are not as user friendly as the Roxio but this does not mean they are not as good, quite the reverse in fact, most experienced users will tell you Nero is more reliable and has more capabilities than Roxio, these exra capabilities contribute to it's being slightly more confusing. If you have Nero on CD you will have a full manual in pdf format on the CD, this is excellent and gives a good overview of all burning issues as well as complete instructions for the Nero programs. InCd is a separate program and is not always included on Nero CDs but can be downloaded for free if you have a licence for the main burning program Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.
