I have the Adv Server w/SP2 cd and have installed SP3 on my current Win2k Server install. Because of this I cannot do the upgrade. Is there any workaround that I can use or am I looking at a reinstall of the OS?

Thanks!

I want to do an upgrade from Win2K Server to Win2K Advance Server.

If you archived the SP3 files then you should be able to roll it back. Go into add\remove programs and remove the SP3, then try your upgrade again.

That's what I thought as well, but no go. I used the autoupdate for this SP, according to MS you cannot uninstall a SP that was installed this way. Of course, I found this out too late.

Thanks Ashley.

That looks like it should work, I'll let ya know later how it worked out. [morning]

Well, it didn't break anything.

I was able to create the installation CD with SP3 but I'm still running Win2K Server, not Adv. Server. I'm not sure why the installation didn't upgrade but I know I used an Adv. Server CD to create the slipstream CD.

I thought that would work. I know microsoft don't offically support upgrading to Adv server so I guess its a OS reinstall :(

I was afraid of that.

If I back up the registry would I be able to keep from reinstalling all of my software? I don't think it's going to be worth having to do that.

Thanks for your help...
