Hey guys,

Quick one, friend of mine has Windows XP Home Ed installed, and has had it running for about 2-2.5 years now...

Problems have arisen, various errors/crashes/viruses/spyware..

It's BADLY in need of a reinstall.. However my friend has misplaced the recovery cds that came with the pc..

He still has the license key for the installation, but no physical disk... If i can get my hands on a XP Home Ed cd, can install with it and just type in the correct license codes?

Aside, from that will i need to buy another O/S disk?

Thanks for any replies.

Yes, as long as your have the orginal Product Code that is unique to that machine, then you will be good to go once you get a disk. There is nothing wrong with using any disk as long as you use the right product code for the PC.

You don't need to buy another CD because you have the proper code...that's all that is required.
