Hi, I have a Crystal report (version 10 that comes with vs 2005). I have the report set to landscape and am using all of the space on the report except for enough space for about 10 characters of comments for each record. I need to add a comment field that could be quite large (up to 1000 characters). Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on this, (possibly a link to another page for the comment field)?
Thanks Paul.

I think you answered your own question. You could set up the field in an on-demand subreport entitled "Comments". Then the word "Comments" would act as a hyperlink to the comments. You would need to link the sub to the main report on a field that is unique to the row.

ok thanks for the information. I have not done ondemand subreports but can look at how to set it up as it should be simular to general subreports. I have done general subreports where I have one query for the main report and one for the subreport.

I think you can just set up the same query in the subreport. If you use parameters in the main report, link them to the parameters in the sub. You could potentially just save a copy of the current report and use that as the sub, eliminating all but the comments field from display. Then link the sub to the main. When you are setting up the sub, title it "Comments" so that it will become the name of the link, and check "on-demand".
