Hi,

I am somewhat new to linux, but I have a centos v4 box on runlevel 3 no gui. I would like to know how to change/modify permissions to a samba share and also where I can view the users as well

Thanks

dR

OK i figured that part out, but at the top of my smb.conf file it says

# Samba config file created using SWAT

i checked the smbusers file and there is no users listed although i have access to it and others don't. is there somewhere else this is configured?

I need to grant a user that has access to the system but not to write to a specific folder

Thanks for your help

if the config is generated by swat, point a web browser at and you will be greeted by a nice tool to administer samba
