When I open up Computer Management - Shared Folders I'm able to see who has an open session (sessions) and what files have been opened (Open Files).
Does anyone know of an app/utility that can log that information. I'd like to be able to log for a period of time and then open the log file up to see who's been accessing what over an extended amount of time.
The situation i'm in I cannot use windows auditing, so i'm looking for alternatives. The remote system I'm trying to log information from isn't a windows box. It's a storage applience (Network Applience Filer), but I do have CIFS access to it and can enumerate shares.
So, basically I can connect to the resource through computer management, but can only access the 'Shared Folders' and the directories underneath (Shares, Sessions, Open Files). From there I can see which CIFS users are connected to the appliance. If I could log that information it would be great.
