We upgraded to a new exchange 2003 mail server from another 5.5 box. I don't see the old server anywhere in AD, but when I try to license an email product it pulls up the old email server name from AD. Is there a way to seached for and delete an old server from AD?
Ooops. Not out of the woods yet. The box was a member server, not a domain controler so I can't find/delete it using NTDSUTIL. I tried finding it using ADSIEDIT but couldn't find it and there doesn't seem to be a "find" feature. What I need to do is to search AD for the server name and delete it. Any other ideas? (It's not in DNS or WINS).
Yes, I did, but that's not where it's coming from. The object is in the Active Directory database. I'm licensing an email program and it looks into AD to get the OU and server information and it's pulling out the name of my old email server. Somewhere in AD is an old entry for this machine.
