IS-IT--Management
Hi,
I am kind of new to Legato and was wondering how best to approach this project.
I have a bunch of tapes backed up with Legato on Solaris I believe, and I need to restore all the data from them to disk. I have configured the latest version of Legato on a Linux system, and have managed to use the scanner utility to verify that I can indeed read the indexes on the tape. I am kind of stumped as to the best way to actually recover the data though. Do I need to create a client on the new server for each of the old ones. Is thier some way I can just get legato to dump what is on the old tapes to disk preferrably in individual directories for each save set on the original tape. I have no infomormation on the old client names etc. I just need to get the data off the tapes.
